                                                   Feb. 10 . 2009

For a few day's the target area looked to be in Southeastern Oklahoma that is a nightmare to chase. On Feb. 9th  the S.P.C. on it's day 2 outlook posted a Moderate Risk for I-35 into Southeastern Oklahoma . The morning of the 10th , I setup the truck and left for work . At noon the S.P.C. updated there outlook and moved the Moderate Risk to the west to the I-44 area . Around 2 pm as the first Tornado Warning was posted for Oklahoma City , I left work with a target of  Ratliff City . I watched the cell's to my north and a strong squall Line along I-44 , Got tired of being eyeballed by the local police . So I moved south to Healton to eat and wait on a cell moving out off North Texas . I foolishly moved west to Ringling and watched a breif spin-up well south of town but  due to nightfall and heavy rain I lost it quickly . As the cell made a right split and went Tornado Warned , I moved to a casino parking lot in the town of Wilson as poeple was taking cover . Got gas and watched what looked to be a very large Tornado about 10 mile to my south ( Little did I know ) . Due to my 2-Meter Ham not being toned in , I could hear spotter's talking , but could not talk to them . I gave in and called Allen Mitchell with KTEN-TV , he told me to get to Ardmore FAST that there was a large Wegde Tornado south west of the town of Lone Grove . I moved east in a core of heavy rain , 1 " hail  , and high wind with a large Tornado to my south at night . What fun ! As I entered the west side of Lone Grove I watched what seemed to be a large stove pipe Tornado pass over the highway just a few blocks in front of me . As the sky glowed blue from the power line being ripped apart it hit me ........Lone Grove has been hit ! I stopped and made a fast call to KTEN  and watched the tornado grow into a large Wedge tornado agian . Got stuck in the damege path , watched a police officer scared in his truck with power's arcing on top , car's over turned , buildings destroyed . I moved to the north and  started east on Praire Valley rd. where I allmost lost my weather station due to a power line hanging over the road . As I entered Ardmore , the power was out and I-35 had no traffic  ( Not Good ) . I moved to go up Hwy 77 ,where I hit a small roof about 5 mile's north of town . Sadly I did see a house destroyed  100 yard's to my east and there was no help around . As I got close to Hwy 53 / Springer , I watched power flashes to my east and found a half mile of power line's down , oddly this was about 4 mile's from the main tornado track . Was this a 2nd  tornado? Thought about heading east on Hwy 53 but , feared that the highway would be blocked by powerline , so I moved to I-35 . As I moved through the mountains , I watched some large power flashes but there was no road's in that area . I raced to Sulphur , but got lucky and the tornado lifted 3 miles southwest of town . This Tornado hit very close to home for my family . From 1998 to 2000 my family lived in are home we bought at the Bar-K Trailer Park in Lone Grove  that was taken by this very strong EF-4 Tornado.
